Commercial Painting Services for Waitrose at Windsor Yard

A nighttime transformation of commercial space in the heart of Windsor

In the heart of Windsor Yard, a well-known retail complex, sits Waitrose, a store that welcomes hundreds of customers every day. While the shop itself has functioned efficiently for years, its shared areas were in need of aesthetic improvement. A long-time maintenance partner we work with regularly – entrusting us with dozens of monthly projects – approached us with a clear request: to refresh the appearance of key access areas quickly and efficiently.

The scope included the entrance, the staircase leading to the upper level, and the corridors connecting the store to parking areas. These updates were part of our wider offer of commercial painting services.

Nighttime execution – zero disruption to daily operations

To avoid interfering with the store’s daily operations, all work had to be carried out after closing hours – exclusively during the night. Time was limited, with a strict deadline in place. We assigned a dedicated team of six experienced painters, led by an on-site project manager. Over the course of three consecutive nights, the team worked efficiently and methodically to complete the project on time.

For projects like this – where every hour counts – precise planning and seamless coordination with the client’s Facility Manager are essential. Our team developed a detailed schedule, ensured smooth communication, and kept every stage under control.

Scope of work – refreshing essential areas

As part of our commercial painting services, the following areas were redecorated:

  • the main entrance to the store,
  • the staircase leading to the first floor,
  • the interior corridors connecting the shop with the car park.

Although the surfaces were not heavily damaged, they showed signs of wear and required a refresh to improve the overall look. We began by protecting all non-painted areas – floors, fittings, doors and signage. Then, we carried out full surface preparation: sanding, repairing cracks, patching imperfections, and ensuring smooth, paint-ready walls and ceilings.

In one section near the entrance, we discovered partially detached plaster. Our team removed the loose material, filled the damaged areas, and sanded the entire section to create a perfectly smooth surface.

To finish, we applied high-performance commercial-grade paints designed specifically for high-traffic environments. These paints offered excellent coverage and durability – exactly what’s needed for a busy retail setting. The result? A bright, fresh, and professional-looking finish that enhanced the entire customer journey from car park to checkout.

Reliability and experience you can trust

Thanks to our long-standing relationship with the client, there was a foundation of trust, experience, and mutual understanding. They knew our team could deliver on a fast schedule, keep the site spotless, and complete the work without interrupting day-to-day activities.

Every morning after night work, the space was clean, safe and ready for the next business day. Tools, protection films and equipment were cleared without leaving a trace.

A happy client – and another successful delivery

Upon completion, we received very positive feedback from the client. They appreciated our flexibility, attention to detail, and ability to deliver under time pressure. The project was a clear example of how quality-focused commercial painting services can improve even the most practical spaces while maintaining operational continuity.

This specific job is also part of a broader relationship with SPA (Stephen Parsons Associates Ltd) – a valued client we’ve worked with for many years on a range of commercial properties. As noted by Owen Parsons, Operations Manager at SPA:

“The team are a pleasure to deal with and always happy to help us with any small or large projects.
We have found the quality of work to be at a very high standard, and our clients are always very impressed with the work carried out and the manner it is carried out.”

The Windsor Yard project proved to be no exception – it was clean, efficient, and professionally managed from start to finish.
