They weren’t just looking for a paint job—they wanted an atmosphere. An effect that would make a lasting impression. That’s where we came in. Lime Wash with Artistic Soul
The project involved painting the reception and entrance hall walls using a lime wash technique, also known as color wash, which we’ve perfected over the years. Enigma chose a palette of deep reds and purples—rich, atmospheric tones meant to energise the space while keeping it inviting. The desired effect was layered and textured, with subtle tonal variations—something that required skill, patience and precision.
Since the space had to remain accessible during business hours, the entire project was carried out overnight, fully compliant with health and safety protocols, and without disrupting Enigma’s day-to-day operations.
How We Worked
Our team of five worked over five consecutive nights. Each phase was carefully planned:
- First, we protected all surrounding surfaces, fixtures and furnishings.
- We then prepped the walls thoroughly—cleaning, filling any imperfections, and applying a specialist primer compatible with lime paint.
- The lime wash was then applied manually, layer by layer, using a method that achieves a soft, cloud-like gradient.
- Finally, we cleaned and restored the space every morning to ensure it was ready for use by staff and guests.
The Result? Striking and Elegant
The finished look transformed a previously neutral space into one with depth, character and warmth. The artistic treatment made the reception area memorable and visually engaging. Enigma praised not only the final look but our flexible approach, attention to detail and smooth communication.
