Where We Were
Baptist Bar, part of a five-star boutique hotel, is a truly wonderful place:
Designed by renowned French designer Jacques Garcia, it offers character, charm; the ultimate in style and luxury.
However, the time had come for some improvements. Since its original build, design trends had moved on. The client agreed: the interior needed some careful updating and renovating.
How could we achieve Baptist Bar’s aims without compromising on its appeal?
Our team often works on exclusive projects, so we were our client’s perfect choice. After agreeing the scope of works, and providing a detailed proposal, we were all set.
Getting Started
It was time for some thorough planning.
With the restaurant temporarily closed, time was money. Could we deliver on time?
To start, as always, we took care to protect and cover all non-paintable surfaces. For example, the floors, marble, old wooden elements, mirrors and so on. For a meticulous result and to make things easier, Ignas always used breathable cardboard, painter’s plastic and strong tape elsewhere.
Working on the ceiling.
Then, we moved on to ceiling preparation. To achieve perfection, this “pre-work” is critical.
The team opened cracks, sanded, filled and skimmed to the highest levels of workmanship. Halogen lights ensured that we spotted even the tiniest of imperfections.
Using Mériguet-Carrère Paris paints (an impeccably suited premium French brand), the ceiling regained its elegant look and feel.
The Walls
For the walls, having been primed with a specialist sealer, Xanadu Landscape Blush, a high-style wallpaper from Iksel Decorative Arts was applied with a flawless finish.
Finishing the project
Of course, every single protective covering was removed, all waste bagged and removed and tools carried out. As you would expect from a select business like Ignas London, the space was left in pristine condition, ready to be enjoyed by paying clients.
Things The Client Loved
We were early. We completed the project several days ahead of schedule. Ignas never works just in time.
Perfection all round. Materials, execution, communication and timing. We always keep our promises.
Trust. The client knew they could rely on us to deliver – no question. With careful planning, organisation and minimal disruption, this wonderful place could re-open sooner rather than later.
Business could pick up again, with satisfied customers admiring and enjoying their stunning surroundings.
