During one of our painters and decorators projects in a London school, we encountered a situation that perfectly
illustrated the importance of using the correct miscode during wall preparation.
In the middle of a summer project
The holiday period is a unique time for us, commercial painters working in schools. The building is empty, students and teachers are away, and we have just a few weeks to complete all the planned works – from refreshing selected classrooms to improvements in corridors and common areas – so that by September the school is fully ready for the new academic year.
Right now, we are carrying out a project at St. Joseph’s School in Wembley. Every day means precisely planned actions, and every stage is part of a bigger puzzle where time, quality and attention to detail are key.
Why deadlines are crucial
In school projects, deadlines are absolutely essential – there is no room for delays. All works must be completed before students return to their classrooms. This means not only painting, but also:
- thorough cleaning after each stage,
- putting furniture back in place,
- preparing spaces so they look as if nothing happened – apart from being fresh and renewed.
That’s why, as an experienced team of commercial painters, we create a day-by-day schedule, and when needed, we work longer hours to keep the pace and meet agreed deadlines.
How we work now at St. Joseph’s School
At the moment, we are focusing on several selected areas, ensuring that each of them is fully ready before students come back. We use high-durability paints, suitable for intensively used rooms, and make sure that after each stage the place is left clean and ready for use.
This is work that requires excellent organisation and strong communication within the team – especially when different spaces need to be finished at different times.

My perspective as Project Manager
For me, it is always a satisfaction to see a project progressing day by day. I coordinate every element – from schedules and material deliveries to quality control. In schools, the time pressure is high, but that is exactly what makes such projects full of energy and asense of well-done work.
Results already visible, but… we are still working
Although the project is still ongoing, the difference is already visible – spaces are brighter, fresher and ready to soon be filled with school life again. Now we are focusing on the final stages to ensure everything is perfectly completed before the first bell of the new school year rings.
