Interior and Exterior Decorating in an Elegant Kensington Property
It was trust that brought us back once again to Edwardes Square. The owners of this beautiful listed home, located just off High Street Kensington, had known our work for years. When they decided to fully refurbish their new home — both inside and out — they contacted IGNAS.
They were looking for a complete transformation of the interiors and exterior, with high-quality finishes, a smooth timeline, and full project coordination. The aim was to move in as soon as possible, without compromising on quality.
Historic Character, New Functionality
Edwardes Square is known for its architectural heritage and elegance. The house we worked on is a Grade II listed building. Working on such properties requires respect for detail and the history of the place. We were asked to deliver a full internal refurbishment – from basement to top floor – and external works to restore the original charm of the façade. The scope also included building, joinery and decorative works, all overseen by our experienced project manager.
What We Did Inside: Timeless Colours, Precision and Craftsmanship
- Crack repairs using reinforcement tape
- Surface preparation and filling
- Painting of walls, ceilings, staircase and woodwork
- Application of Little Greene Intelligent Matt Emulsion, in warm, elegant tones
- Staircase painted in light tones to brighten the space
- Repairs to skirting boards
- Complete refurbishment of one bathroom, carried out by our trusted subcontractors
- Preparation of sections of flooring for the new parquet installation
At the busiest stage, up to 10 team members were involved: painters, manager, joiner, and builder – all working together with a focus on quality and timing.
What We Did Outside: Lasting Beauty and Breathable Protection
- Restoration of all windows – removing old paint, replacing putty, and repainting
- Refurbishment of metalwork
- Repairs to selected sections of the façade
- Final application of a breathable paint system, appropriate for listed buildings, offering long-term protection and elegant finish
All external work was carried out with full respect for the building’s architecture and in line with heritage protection standards.

The entire project lasted just over 3 months, in line with the agreed schedule. Despite the broad scope — interior, exterior, and team coordination — everything went smoothly and resulted in an outstanding finish. The house was ready for its next chapter – fresh, refined, and full of character.
